Located on Puerto Rico's southeast shore, about 45 miles from San Juan, the
Candelero Resort at Palmas del Mar is a sprawling resort consisting of some 2,750 acres on
more than three miles of palm tree-lined beach. You'll want to rent a car from the airport if you desire to tour the island or seek out nightlife. The resort area is rather quiet.

Guests have a number of rooms options: The renovated 102-room formerly called the Doral Resort at Palmas del Mar - the most affordable accommodations - has spacious rooms with high ceilings and tropical decor; and one, two and three bedroom villas come fully equipped.

An active vacationer's dream destination, Palmas del Mar boasts a 20-court
tennis complex, two championship 18-hole golf courses, a fitness center with the latest equipment, an equestrian center and seven pools. The vast grounds, in fact, are ideal for hiking, a popular activity here. There's also a casino. Golf carts are available for rent to get around the property and a shuttle bus service stops every 30 minutes at varying locations throughout the resort.

Dining choices include a formal French restaurant, a casual Oriental restaurant
and several other eateries located throughout the property. A state-of-the art conference facility makes Palmas a favorite for meetings and conventions.
